Innova Soil Technology Ltd, has developed an internationally recognised process, which allows the safe, reliable and efficient treatment of all hydrocarbon-contaminated soils. The Innova process removes contaminants from the soil without destroying its physical properties or integrity. This allows for the beneficial reuse of soil on housing and construction sites or in parklands, sporting fields and recreational areas, while at all times ensuring world best practice environmental standards are achieved.
Innova has proposed to establish a centre for site remediation (CSR) on a disused portion of the Dow Chemical manufacturing site located in the Altona Petrochemical Complex. Traditionally Melbourne's western suburbs has housed a majority of Victoria's industrial manufacturing facilities resulting in many of these sites being contaminated.
Innova's CSR will provide the local community - specifically industry and councils - with a safe, efficient, proven option for former industrial, manufacturing and chemical sites. A conceptual representation of the centre can be found below.

The opportunity to cleanse soil from local polluted sites in the area - returning them to light industrial, commercial or housing development, even parklands, recreation reserves or sporting facilities in some instances - has met with strong support.
The legacy of previous generations needs to be addressed now and not left to future generations.
